Mountain Valley Sale Report – 25th Annual Bull Sale – August 2018

We offered 74 in total, sold 64, top of $15,000 – Lot 51.  Average $6,297.

Poll Hereford bulls – offered 54, sold 44.  Top price – Lot 51 – $15,000.  Average – $5,545.  Remaining bulls sold after the sale.

Angus bulls – offered 20, sold 20.  Top price – Lot 66 – $13,000.  Average – $8,300.

Poll Hereford 14 months old heifers – offered 2, sold 2.  Top price – $5,500.  Average – $4,750.

Bulls went to repeat and new buyers throughout NSW, QLD, VIC, TAS & SA.

We would like to sincerely thank all buyers and under bidders for their support and confidence in our program!

Our 26th anniversary Bull Sale is scheduled for Thursday, 15th August, 2019 at 1 pm.

The results of the sale, “Mountain Valley Reaches a $15,000 Top”, were published in both Queensland Country Life and The Land.

Angus Sire Peakes Gabba K556 Video


Peakes Gabba K556 EVTK556, a beautifully balanced bull that just owns the paddock. He will sire many of the Angus bulls in our 2019 Annual Bull Sale in August 2019.

He was the top price Angus at the 2016 Bowen bull sale at @$30,000. He is one of the best bulls of any breed we’ve ever bought, we feel privileged to have him as the cornerstone of our Angus herd!

25th Annual Sale – August 2018 – Bulls & Heifers Video

Our 25th Annual Bull Sale held Thursday 16th August, 2018 at 1pm offering 60 Poll Hereford bulls, 21 Angus bulls and 2 Poll Hereford heifers.

We are especially pleased to be offering our first run of Angus bulls to come through the sale ring. As well as our largest most consistent run of Poll Hereford bulls to date.

We offered 44, sold 44, top of $15,000 twice – Lots 2 and 39.  Average $8,681.

Mountain Valley Sale Report – 22nd Annual Sale – August 2015

Bulls sold to a top of $22,000 and averaged $6812 at the 22nd annual Mountain Valley Poll Herefords sale in August 2015.

All 40 bulls sold, going to clients in NSW, Queensland and Victoria.

The top bull, Mountain Valley Karabar K203, sold to Jeff and Robyn Holcombe, Rayleigh Poll Herefords, “Rayleigh”, Burren Junction.

The 17-month-old bull, by Mountain Valley Gambler G14 from Mountain Valley Shamrock C12, weighed 764 kilograms, had a scrotal circumference of 42 centimetres, measured 12 millimetres and 9mm of rib and rump fat and had an eye muscle area (EMA) of 109 square centimetres.

The sale’s volume buyers were Judy Grills, “Glenorchy”, Bukkulla, and John Thompson, “Coolamore”, Niangala, who purchased four bulls each.

The sale was conducted by CL Squires and Co, Inverell, with Paul Dooley, Tamworth, auctioneering.
